Flame Retardant Polythene

Polythene is naturally flammable making it unsuitable for certain applications mainly in the construction industry.

Flame retardant additives are added to polymers prior to extrusion and can delay or inhibit combustion. Once the flame retardant polythene is burning the additives react together to produce a gas that restricts the available oxygen thereby limiting the burning process.
