Our History

How we got to where we are today
Stan Hardman

1968

Stan Hardman, having worked extensively in the Polythene industry for many years, identified a gap in the market and launched Narrow Polythene Films, a company specialising in the manufacture of narrow width layflat tubing and small bespoke Polythene bags.

1977

As Narrow Polythene Films approached its 10th anniversary the business was continuing to grow. A larger premises was required in order to meet the ever growing demand for quality polythene products. With the first factory located just outside Ilkeston the nearby site on Digby Street seemed the obvious choice and Stan didn’t waste any time in purchasing the new premises.

1978

Stan’s son Derrick joined the company and together they expanded the business further, investing in more staff, extrusion lines and bag making machinery.

Today

As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, Derrick now runs the business under the trade name of NPF Packaging. A company that boasts an extensive portfolio of large and small polythene packaging products. Coupled with a cardboard packaging division he is proud to offer a premium customer service at a cost effective price point. Just the way Stan did all those years ago.
